Living History Exhibit at the Franklin Downtown Partnership's Annual Strawberry Stroll

As the country recognizes the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, the Franklin Historical Museum will host a living history exhibit at the Franklin Downtown Partnership's Annual Strawberry Stroll on Thursday, June 12th.

Members of the U.S. Naval Landing Party, a Civil War reenactment crew, will exhibit a modified version of their living exhibit on the front lawn of the museum, with tents, bunks, uniforms and daily necessities of the soldiers from this historic time period.

Adopt A Block

A message from one of our members:

Adopt-a-Block
A Special Invitation to all Downtown Business Owners

Hello,
My name is Devin Gray and I've volunteered to help develop an Adopt-a-Block program for the Franklin Downtown area.

The goal of Adopt-a-Block is to encourage business owners to pitch in and help keep the downtown clean and presentable for all.

I'm currently brainstorming the best way to accomplish this task. I'll be walking around the downtown and speaking with business owners. In the meantime, please feel free to e-mail me at devin@devingrayfitness.com with any opinions, requests, or just to say hello.

Thank you,

Devin Gray

Business Invitation to Brochure Press Release

The Franklin Downtown Partnership is currently creating a new brochure that will include a Franklin map, member business listings, advertising and highlights of key cultural and civic attractions. Don’t get left out of this exciting project -- businesses that renew memberships by May 9, 2014, will receive a free listing.

The map will highlight the downtown center but also will include FDP member businesses throughout all of Franklin. The unique cultural and historic aspects of the community, such as the historical museum, sculptures, theaters, library, and Franklin’s popular festivals will receive mention, making the piece useful for residents and visitors alike.

The brochure will be distributed early this summer to businesses and residents of Franklin and several surrounding communities.

A limited amount of advertising space will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Businesses interested in participating should e-mail FDP Communications Coordinator Terri Frank at terrifrank1@gmail.com as soon as possible to reserve a space.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity!
