Beautification Committee

This past spring we expanded the FDP Beautification Committee to include a group that would be more involved in on-going beautification tasks like trash pick-up, sweeping sidewalks and weeding. Chris Bond and Jim Schultz are leading this new group and we are inviting business owners, building owners and residents to be part of this planning group. We are still in the idea stages and would like to get your input.

Please email the FDP at Downtown.Franklin@yahoo.com if you are interested in being part of the Beautification Committee or have ideas on how we can improve downtown center.

Strawberry Stroll Thank You

The 2012 Strawberry Stroll in Downtown Franklin started out a bit stormy but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm or the appetites of anyone who braved the elements early and came out to enjoy the event.
When the storm clouds passed shortly before 5:00 p.m., DJ Domenic Cotoia of Music Odyssey Productions got the party fired up by playing “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. Shortly after that the crowds arrived to celebrate the unofficial start of summer.
Hundreds of people strolled through the downtown Thursday afternoon, enjoying the Partnership’s famous strawberry shortcakes in front of Dean Bank, special promotions by participating businesses and restaurants, and music at four different locations.
A big Thank You to the sponsors of this year’s Strawberry Stroll:
Platinum Sponsor Dean Bank
Silver Sponsors Dean College and Garelick Farms
Bronze Sponsors DCU, Keefe Insurance, CVS Pharmacy and Chestnut Dental

And Thank You to all our volunteers who helped make this event happen!

More photos from the event will be posted in the 2012 Strawberry Stroll Slideshow soon! Look for it in the upper right-hand corner of this website.
